Welcome to the Catholic Archdiocese of Adelaide

Welcome to the official website of the Catholic Archdiocese of Adelaide. Through our parishes, schools, agencies and ministries we strive to follow in the footsteps of Australia's first saint, Mary MacKillop, whose mantra was "never see a need without doing something about it". As people of faith, hope and love, we are committed to building a world where the dignity of every human being is respected.

St Francis Xavier's Cathedral

The historic St Francis Xavier's Cathedral in Wakefield Street, city, is closed until the end of September while restoration work, including the installation of a 1927 Casavant Frères pipe organ, is completed.

St Patrick's Church, Grote Street, is currently the main place of worship for the Adelaide Cathedral Parish.

The Cathedral Restoration Appeal has been established to enable this important work to be undertaken.
