You may already be working in a secular area such as education, social work, health, business, management, public service, communications, financial management, music, community development or youth work.
If you are a man who has completed a Year of Inquiry and discernment in the Ministry Formation Program Certificate in Ministry with Graduate Theological Studies [online ACU] you may be considered for the Pathway to the Permanent Diaconate.
You will require the recommendation of your parish priest regarding your suitability to begin diaconal formation. You cannot self-select for this program.
The Year of Inquiry is a period of discernment and does not indicate automatic acceptance for candidature to the diaconate.
Diaconal Formation and the process of application for candidacy and ordination to the permanent diaconate will be under the authority of the Bishop and according to the Adelaide Archdiocesan Policy for the Permanent Diaconate.
