Domus Australia: your home in Rome

domus_banner_2.jpg

Domus Australia is an authentic Italian 32 room guest house (casa per ferie) located in a beautifully restored historic convent building in central Rome. It was established by the Archdiocese of Sydney with the support of the Archdiocese of Adelaide and other Australian dioceses, to provide Australian travellers and pilgrims with comfortable accommodation while visiting the Eternal City.

The Domus was officially opened by Pope Benedict XVI on October 19, 2011 after undergoing extensive renovations to create the wonderful facilities present on the site today.

When staying at the Domus, guests experience the fusion of Italian history and charm with great Australian hospitality and comforts (modern, spacious accommodation and ensuites, in-room tea/coffee facilities, guest laundry etc). Rates are very reasonable and all include an extensive hot and cold buffet breakfast. Special group rates are available on request.

The Domus is a “home in Rome” to Australian pilgrim groups, study groups and parish tour groups as well as families and independent travellers. All have been delighted with the modern and practical facilities and wonderful English speaking staff. See Tripadvisor reviews.

In May 2015, Domus Australia celebrated the award of its second consecutive Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence, having received an average star rating of 5 out of 5.

Located centrally in Rome near Termini Station, the Domus is within walking distance to the Spanish Steps, Borghese Gardens, Rome’s major cultural attractions and key shopping areas.
