Keep an eye on the news

Every day the media industry churns out thousands of words and images as it reports on the current issues and events of the day. With the advent of social media and daily online news bulletins, the dissemination of news has never been wider.

These news reports play a vital part in communicating with, and informing, the public – a strong and independent media industry is an essential element of democracy as we know it today.

The Archbishop’s Media Citations aim to promote fairness, accuracy and truth in reporting – and to build and strengthen the South Australian community.

So what stories have you read, listened to, watched, written or edited lately which you believe to be deserving of consideration for an award?

It might be a thought-provoking video news clip or a piece of investigative journalism, it might be a feature which gives you new insights into an issue or identity, or maybe it’s just a damn good read.

Online nomination

To nominate, you can fill in the registration form  prior to the deadline of May 16, 2017 and we will contact the journalist's employer.  If you are nominating your own work, you can also  fill in the online  registration form or email mcoombe@adelaide.catholic.org.au.

The citations are open to journalists, presenters, writers and producers working in South Australia and servicing a predominantly South Australian audience. Of course work may be part of a national or international publication.
