Ministry for the Church Now in Australia: A Reflection in the light of the Scriptures
Tuesday December 6, 2016, 6.30 — 8.30pm

This year’s Annual Oration will be delivered by Sr Michele Connolly rsj, a lecturer in New Testament at the Catholic Institute of Sydney, Strathfield, where she was the academic dean from 2006-2015. Sr Michele will share her thoughts on Ministry for the Church now in Australia: A Reflection in the light of the Scriptures.

Dr Michele A. Connolly, rsj, is a Sister of St Joseph from Lochinvar in the diocese of Maitland. Sr Michele taught in secondary schools in the Maitland diocese before beginning studies in Theology, com-pleting the PhD in New Testament from the Gradu-ate Theological Union, in Berkeley, CA. She has taught New Testament at Catholic Theological Union, Hunter’s Hill and in many parishes and spiritual renewal centres. Since 2001, Sr Michele has been lecturing in New Testament at the Catholic Institute of Sydney, Strathfield, where she was the Academic Dean, from 2006-2015.

This is the 10th year of the Ministry Formation Program – a program instituted by Archbishop Philip Wilson and one which is unique in Australia. The Friends of the Ministry Formation Program support the works of the Archdiocese by assisting the MFP to provide education in theology and faith formation for lay leaders.
