Fringe 2017 free lunchtime concerts

Adelaide Fringe 2017.jpg

Dates:  Wednesdays Feb 22, Mar 8 and 15
Time: 1pm-1.30pm
Where: St Francis Xavier's Cathedral, Wakefield Street, Adelaide

For the first time, St Francis Xavier’s Cathedral is opening its doors for the Fringe as a venue for lunchtime organ recitals. The Cathedral has recently undergone significant restoration work, including the installation of a Canadian-built 1927 Casavant Frères pipe organ. The instrument is unique to Australia, being the only example of an inter-war built organ from the American continent and has a different sound to English-style organs of that era. The lunchtime recitals are a unique opportunity to visit this beautiful place of worship and be inspired by some of the world’s best classical music being played on this magnificent pipe organ.
