Circles of Faith

What is this? :
Circles of Faith are small groups in your parish, community or neighbourhood that meet once a month to pray and share. For more information about joining or forming a group please contact your parish office or email Marie Loller.

Why Circles of Faith? : Pope Benedict XVI requested a focus on the Creed in the Year of Faith (2012-2013), and a nine-part series of articles on the Creed is being published in each issue of The Southern Cross with the first article appearing in April 2013.

Each month a section of the Creed will be explored – see below for the articles and study guides for individual or group use.

Articles of Faith Series

FINAL ARTICLE

With Article 9 we come to the end of this series in which the Nicene Creed, the proclamation and prayer of our Catholic faith, has been explored in detail.
The articles and study guides will continue to be available as a resource for Adult Faith Formation and for your own personal use. There is no study guide for this article instead see the suggestions that follow.

PRAYER & STUDY CIRCLE – Article #9
In your group you spend some time following Fr Anthony’s exhortation to ‘see this not just as a proclamation but as a Prayer’.

  1. Don’t just say it – pray it! – in your group take time to savour each part of this prayer.
  2. Know what you are saying – What is it that strikes you as most significant in your faith life at this time?
  3. Celebrate: share what has been a highlight for you in your journey through the Year of Faith. What has helped to nurture your faith?
  4. Share and witness: What will you now commit to in sharing this amazing gift of faith with others?
