The steps

When a Clergy, Deacon, Religious Brother or Sister from INTERSTATE with an ACMR ID number, seeks to visit (long or short stay) to provide any type of ministry in an Adelaide parish or school, at least 3 weeks prior to the visit:

They are required to email or post to the Screening and Verification Authority the following completed documents:

  • ACMR form
  • Evidence of a current WWCC
  • Completion of SA WWCC application
    (for stays exceeding 10 days – Screening and Verification Authority will assist with facilitating this upon receipt of the form)

Once the completed paperwork is received, the appropriate verifications (ACMR ID # and the WWCC) will take place and permission to minister in the Archdiocese will, if appropriate then be issued by the Archbishop’s Office.

  • In the case of Clerics (Persons under Holy Orders), a letter granting Faculties for the exercise of clerical ministry will be prepared for the Archbishop/Bishops approval.
  • In the case of other Religious, a letter of welcome will be prepared for the Archbishop/Bishops approval.
  • For any appointments to the Archdiocese the Clergy, Deacon or Religious Brother or Sister will be required to attend a full day training on Safe Environments. 
  • For any stay exceeding 30 days, the Clergy, Deacon or Religious Brother or Sister will be required to attend a briefing with the Professional Standards Office.
  • For any stay between 10-30 days, the Clergy, Deacon or Religious Brother or Sister will be issued with a ‘Mandatory Notification – In a Nutshell’ document.

The Parish Priest within the Adelaide Archdiocese will be notified that this permission has been granted.

  • Individual Declaration
  • Church Authority Statement
  • Evidence of a current WWCC
  • Completion of SA WWCC
    (for stays exceeding 10 days – Screening and Verification Authority will assist with facilitating this upon receipt of the form)

Once the completed paperwork is received, the appropriate verifications (declarations and the WWCC will take place and permission to minister in the Archdiocese will, if appropriate then be issued by the Archbishop’s Office.
