Ms Cathy Whewell
Cathy Whewell is Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Adelaide, working in
the Leadership Group for the Archdiocese. She has previously assisted
the archdiocese through consulting on Multicultural Services and
Ecclesial Ministry and other projects. Previously, Cathy has also
coordinated a leadership education program for Catholic Adult Education,
was the the executive officer for the Diocesan Justice and Peace
Commission and the Catholic Earthcare Commission before becoming
involved in, and later coordinating Basic Ecclesial Communities (now
called Neighbourhood Church). Cathy has a strong background in community
and leadership development and an interest in evaluation. Cathy is
currently engaged with a number of issues to include strategic pastoral
planning, working with Diocesan Pastoral Council, Chaplaincy, Ecumenism
and other forms of leadership across the archdiocese.

Mrs Heather Carey
Heather Carey is Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Adelaide, working in the
Leadership Group for the Archdiocese. A former teacher, Heather was one of
the founding co-principals at Nazareth Catholic College in Flinders Park.
She also held a variety of leadership roles, including co-principal, during her
19 years at Mary MacKillop College at Kensington. Two of her main responsibilities
in her current role are pastoral planning through the Leap Ahead strategy and
overseeing child protection programs for the Archdiocese.
