• Youth Ministry Position

Abbot Michael Kelly and members of St. Benedict’s Monastery, Arcadia with Sr. Liz Wiemers and members of the Sisters of the Good Samaritan, will lead short retreats providing an experience of Benedictine prayer and spirituality in the Australian desert environment.  There will be talks on the desert wisdom that inspired early Christian monasticism as well as engagement with local Aboriginal and National Parks resources to enable retreatants to enter more fully into an understanding of the desert landscape.

After negotiations with transport providers for travel movements to and from World Youth Day Sydney, Harvest Tours today extended its 25% confirmation deposit requirement to include all bookings made by Friday 14th December 2007. After this date, Harvest is expected to announce a deposit increase to 50%.

We note from your feedback that you have been faced with a number of urgent priorities leading up to Christmas and we are delighted to advise you that George Westin Foods has been able to extend the registration date to 8 February 2008. We are very grateful to George Westin Foods as this extension adversely affects their logistics and operations regarding the delivery of the hot cross buns.

World Youth Day organisers are holding a casting call to find actors who can play pivotal roles in the Stations of the Cross performance. Roles include Jesus, Mary, Pontius Pilate, Simon of Cyrene, the 12 Apostles, Roman Soldiers, religious authorities as well as a crew of extras. Please find attached the media release.

The World Youth Day Sydney Office would like to collate information on how many pilgrims from Oceania are being sponsored, to help them conclude how many pilgrims still need sponsorship. It will also enable the team the opportunity to establish more potential linkages.

DNS Supply has WYD items for sale. They consist of pins, badges, rosary beads, pendants and wristbands. Your School, Parish or Organisation may be able to sell these items as a fundraiser for your WYD preparations. Please see the link below.
