Our priests are always there for us when we need them – when we get married, when our children are baptised, when we are ill and when we need their prayers. They are there for us in a crisis of faith or when the time comes to lay a loved one to rest.

Every Sunday, parishioners throughout the Archdiocese are called upon to support our priests through the First Collection at Sunday Mass. This and other income is directed to the Diocesan Presbytery Fund.

In the Archdiocese of Adelaide, the Clergy Care Council, through the Diocesan Presbytery Fund, coordinates the support for all our priests – active, sick, elderly and retired.

The Fund covers such vital needs as:

• Transport assistance and motor vehicle expenses
• Health insurance
• Medical and dental expenses
• Assistance with board and lodging expenses
• Nursing home and hostel care
