First Collection Renewal 2008

The Clergy Care Council in conjunction with the Diocesan Fundraising Team is conducting a First Collection Renewal in the Archdiocese during November.

How much is a Priest Worth?
The question is a bit like – how long is a piece of string?
There is no real answer.
Their ministry is invaluable for they touch the lives of people at so many critical and joyous moments, and they are there, in so many daily quiet times, offering prayer for us all.


How to Respond?
Think about what you give to the First Collection.
Is it given in appreciation for the ministry of priests, or is it small change given without thought?
The heart behind the giving is most important.
And if your heart motivates your giving, maybe this is the time to review how much you give.


It is no longer a matter of small change …
When someone is ordained to the priesthood, something happens to them at the depths of their being.
Do we treasure all our priests, care for them, love them and support them, as they live their lives in service to us?
