Who We HelpCatherine HouseCatherine House Inc. offers emergency and transitional supported accommodation to single adult women over 21 years who are homeless and unaccompanied by children. Clients can access a range of services including case management, substance misuse counselling, health services and an education and employment program. The staff at Catherine House work with women to help them deal with the issues that have brought them to homelessness. The organisation provides safe accommodation and encourages a learning environment where women can realise their potential to live successful independent lives.http://www.catherinehouse.org.au/ Ain KarimThe Sisters of St Joseph have established permanent accommodation and care for adults with intellectual disabilities. Some have been given high level support while others require only minimal support. Aboriginal Catholic MinistryThe Otherway Centre in Pirie Street offers indigenous Catholics a Sunday Eucharist. This Ministry also provides the wider indigenous community with counselling; a drop in service; work with street kids and outreach, visiting people in the streets, parks, hotels, in their own homes, in prison and in hospital. It also supports indigenous students attending Catholic Schools. http://www.acc.asn.au/ Catholic Deaf AssociationThe Sisters of St Joseph, through the Catholic Deaf Centre provide services for people who are deaf. These services include religious education for children and ongoing faith education for adults. The centre also provides interpreting services for deaf people, and counselling referrals for families and individuals who may be experiencing difficulties. St Patrick’s and St Ann’s Special SchoolsCater for children with intellectual and multiple disabilities. Students range in age from 5 - 20. Click here to go to St Patrick's Special School website. Centacare Catholic Family ServicesWorks with around 20,000 people each year providing a wide range of counselling, education and support services. Louise PlaceOffers supported accommodation for homeless pregnant teenagers. Counselling, life-skills and general education and support to continue school education are also given to these girls. Hutt Street CentreRun by the Daughters of Charity this is a meal and day centre for the homeless people of Adelaide. Men, women and at times children attend the Centre. Facilities are breakfast, lunch, laundry, showers, lockers, counselling, referral, housing and advocacy.
Each year over 2000 people attend the Centre with approximately 51,000 meals being served. St Joseph's family Care CentreThrough the Sisters of St Joseph at Mitchell Park homeless families are given emergency housing and counselling.
The Centre has 10 emergency homes available and continues their work with the families once they moved on to their new permanent accommodation. |
