The English as a Second Language Program (ESL) supports the broad context of Reception to Year 12 (R-12)  literacy development in Catholic Education South Australia (CESA).

The ESL Program:

• delivers professional development programs (R-12) based on the identified needs and priorities of Catholic Education South Australia
• initiates school based support for teachers and principals (R-12)
• conducts R-12 ESL assessments and provides assistance to schools with identified ESL students
• contributes to the identification of school and sector needs and priorities
• coordinates the professional development activities of the ESL Teachers’ Network and administration requirements of this program
• collaborates on cross-curricula approaches to professional development delivery with identified teams in CESA and other stakeholders
