SACSA Curriculum
The SACSA team provides leadership in curriculum and education services within the Learning and Student Wellbeing Team.
In Catholic Education South Australia(CESA) schools , the preferred curriculum framework is the South Australian Curriculum, Standards and Accountability Framework ( SACSA).
Services
The SACSA team’s services relate to all aspects of learning, teaching and assessing within the SACSA Framework and include:
- support for school leaders in further development of the key areas of contemporary curriculum leadership, leading of learning and the SACSA framework, grounded in faith, ethos and Catholic traditions
- planning, implementing and evaluating a range of professional development strategies to enable full participation in CESA schools with the key elements of the SACSA framework and contemporary learning and teaching
- specialised advice and support for school leaders in developing improvement and effectiveness in learning to enhance student outcomes
- developing collaborative networks with school leaders, schools, CESA and other agencies involved with SACSA and its development into the future
- responsibilities for aspects of Australian Government programs, including Australian Government Quality Teacher Programmes
- one example of work in an AGQTP cluster activity is the set of Leadership for Learning Papers (below) compiled by a group of school leaders in 2007.
Projects
Since 2006, SACSA team support to school leaders was available in relation to projects in the following areas:
- leading Innovations in Curriculum with SACSA - school-based or regional innovations to implement an aspect of SACSA
- planning to Lead Curriculum Improvement with SACSA – school-based or regional innovations to implement and embed SACSA as the curriculum framework in schools
- learning for Curriculum Leadership of SACSA – collegial opportunities for school leaders to engage with other leaders regarding elements of SACSA and curriculum leadership
- professional Support for Curriculum Leadership with SACSA – team members acting as a critical friend to provide support, challenge and discourse for curriculum leadership
