Catholic Safety Health and Welfare SA (CSHW SA) is the agency that manages the Church's Injury Prevention. The team of OHS Consultants located in the Diocesan Centre, Wakefield Street, Adelaide provide support, advice and assistance to worksites in relation to occupational, health, safety and welfare legislation, hazard and incident management. This team is supported by OHS Consultants in the education sector and Injury Management Consultants at CCI.
The team develops policies and procedures in consultation with the four industry sectors, education, health, social services and parishes. CSHW SA coordinates the Exempt Licence Governance Structure and monitors and reviews the Church's Safety Managment System.
CSHW SA manages the Church's occupational, health safety and welfare HOWEVER, as paid employees and volunteers of the Church we all have a responsibility to protect our own health & safety at work and not to adversely affect the safety of others. Those who manage worksites have a responsibility to provide a safe environment and safe systems of work for all who work, study, visit and /or volunteer at their worksite.

Kathy moved into OHS&W after several years in the health industry as a Registered Nurse/Midwife. She has experience as an adult educator working with clinical and non-clinical staff and has coordinated OHS&W in the hospital setting. She has worked in the Catholic Church Exempt Licence since 2004.
Kathy has completed a Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Education (Training of Adults) and a Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety.

David commenced work in Occupational Health and Safety in 1987 and has worked for a number of exempt employer organizations. He has experience in auditing, training, policy and procedure development and all other aspects of OHS&W.
David‘s goal is to improve health and safety at the workplace and assist employees and employers work safely and encourage their work colleagues to spread the safety message to all.
David has the following qualifications, the Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety Management from University of South Australia, Health and Safety Certificate from TAFE, Training qualification, Business Improvement Auditor from RABQSA and comes from a trade background as an Electrical and Mechanical Fitter.

Fran joined CSH&W after working in the education sector both in research and delivery of OHS and previously in OHS project roles. Fran has her diploma in OHS and also has experience in working within an exempt licence.
Fran is looking forward to returining to the operational aspects of OHS and assisting sites in their understanding and improvement of management of OHS for the benefit of minimising the risk of accidents.

Jayne’s background is as a registered nurse and began her OHS&W career in a manufacturing plant in 1994 as OHS&W Registered Nurse/Rehabilitation Coordinator. In 2003 Jayne started her own business and was contracted by several Catholic schools to assist them with their OHS&W Management Systems.
In 2003 Jayne commenced her Certificate III OHS&W and over the years worked towards completing her Diploma in 2005. She has also completed Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment and holds a Business Improvement Auditor Certificate from RABQSA.
Jayne’s vision is looking after people through being preventative rather than reactive.

Kim has a broad background in OHS with experience in the health, aviation and manufacturing sectors. She commenced her employment with CSH&WSA in late 2007 and enjoys the diversity and challenges of her role.
Kim continues to lecture part-time TafeSA in occupational health and safety systems.
In 2006 Kim attained a Graduate Diploma in Occupational Hazard Management at the University of Ballarat (VIOSH) and holds Nursing, Auditing and Training and Assessment (TAA) qualifications.
Kim is keen to share her knowledge and to promote a systematic and holistic approach to managing workplace safety and improving safety culture.

Lisa has been working in Occupational Health and Safety for over 10 years, working for non-exempt and exempt employers in both private and public sectors in prevention roles. Prior to commencing work at Catholic Education South Australia in 2006, Lisa was an OHS Inspector with SafeWork SA.
Lisa holds a Graduate Diploma in OHS Management, Bachelor of Science, Diploma of Government (Workplace Inspections) and various other qualifications. Recently Lisa obtained her Business Improvement Auditor qualifications through RABQSA. In addition to working for Catholic Safety Health and Welfare, Lisa does some tutoring and assessing work in undergraduate and post-graduate OHS courses at the University of South Australia.
Lisa is currently a Chartered Professional Member of Safety Institute of Australia.
Lisa is passionate about safety and looks forward to working with employers and employees to improve their safety culture.

Peter completed 27 years at the RSPCA as an inspector when he then changed career to an OHS&W inspector with SafeWork SA. Peter has completed a Diploma of Government (Workplace Inspection), has one subject to complete a Diploma in Occupational Health Safety and Welfare and has completed Certificate IV in Occupational Health Safety and Welfare. Peter has also completed a 5 day Lead Auditor course.
He has been working with Catholic Safety Health and Welfare for almost 3 years and has found the experience both challenging and rewarding. The role has provided Peter with the opportunity to meet many people from various backgrounds and has developed strong working relationships with many of his sites.
Peter is the Executive Officer for the Social Services Sector and has enjoyed the challenge of assisting the organisations within the Social Services Sector to come together and assist each other to achieve compliance with the Catholic Church Safety Management System. He looks forward to continue working in a pro-active role assisting the sites within the Licence. He sees his former role as SafeWork SA inspector being beneficial to sites in achieving their compliance in relation to the OHS&W legislation.
