Catholic Theological College, as one of the member Colleges of the Adelaide College of Divinity provides training for lay ecclesial ministry as well as study of the Christian tradition for lay people not necessarily training for ministry.

The ACD is the registered provider of a number of awards at Certificate level and the CTC teaches topics that are accredited under these awards. These awards include the Certificate IV in Ministry, with exits at Certificate I, II and III in Ministry.

The topics in these Certificates are grouped under three main headings:

  • Bible Theology and Heritage
  • The Life, Ministry and Mission of the Church
  • Personal Development for Christian Service

Certificate II in Ministry (Basic Catholic Theology) convened by CTC is a programme which introduces participants to contemporary Catholic Theology and is aimed at parishioners who have not previously embarked on formal study of theology. Topics cover the areas of bible, theology and practical theology.

Certificate IV in Ministry (Spiritual Direction) is a two-year, part-time program that aims to prepare aspiring spiritual directors for this ministry. Dr Carina Flaherty ibvm, convenes this programme.
