Clare Valley: 9 to 11 October 2009
The RCIA conference at Clare in October was led by Archbishop Wilson DD JCL and Bishop O’Kelly SJ AM DD. Archbishop Wilson as the keynote speaker reminded the groups to be authentic to the vision for RCIA of the Second Vatican Council. Bishop O’Kelly led the groups on a pilgrimage in the footsteps of the founders of Faith in the mid-north. The groups were representative of the seven deaneries in the Adelaide Archdioceses, and the Dioceses of Port Pirie.
During the working session the groups examined the RCIA from the perspective of Appreciative Enquiry. This enquiry was lead by Geraldine Hawkes, Executive Officer of the SA Council of Churches, and Jill Gallio of the Diocesan Pastoral Resource Team. The task of the conference was to dream, discover, design, and deliver a new strategic plan for the two Dioceses in South Australia. These plans will be the subject of on-going discussions in the following months.
The Conference attendees also were invited to be participants at the National RCIA conference next year at Glenelg.
