The Archdiocese is proud of the Religious men and women of the forty Congregations ministering to the people of our community. Their work ranges across education, healthcare, welfare, church life and cultural communities. Some Congregations have served the Adelaide Church for over one hundred years. Some have been ministering for more than fifty years. Others are more recent arrivals for new missions.
Archbishop Philip Wilson has appointed Sister Ruth Egar, a Sister of Mercy as Facilitator of the Office of the Vicar for Religious to communicate with the Religious, to offer support and encouragement, and resources where necessary.
Ruth is a member of the Congregational Leaders of Religious Institutes of South Australia.
Sister Ruth’s work includes a response to both individuals and small communities when invited. She also works closely with Bishop Greg O’Kelly, Fr Paul Cashen and Jane Swift, in assisting Archbishop Wilson.
She can be contacted through the Archbishop’s Office, 8210 8108 or on 0403 502 228, or by leaving a message on 8351 5760.
